| On Sunday, May 19th, SALDEF held a Know Your Rights Form at the Sikh Society of Michigan in Sterling Height, MI. The event was attended by approximately 130 members of the local and neighboring Sangats. The speakers at the Know Your Rights included Kenneth Hammond from Customs and Border Protection, Bob Beeckman and Brent Nida from the FBI and Jamie Dickinson from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Kenneth Hammond from Customs and Border Protection said, “I have been familiar with the Sikh American community for years, mainly through the Trucking Industry. But this is the first time I had a chance to visit your place of worship.” |
