LDP Applications Open Now- Two Weeks Only

SALDEF Seeks Apps for Groundbreaking LDP Program; Deadline 3/27!

SALDEF is now accepting applications for its next SikhLEAD Leadership Development Program (LDP) class! LDP is a two part program designed to inspire, develop, and support a diverse, motivated, and innovative group of young Sikh American pioneers as they prepare for a lifetime of community engagement and leadership. The program brings together approximately 18 young Sikh American leaders from across the country to participate in six days of training spread over two holiday weekends (Memorial Day and Columbus Day). Participation in both weekends—and reading material assigned prior to each session—is mandatory. A series of challenging workshops, group activities and thought provoking discussions promotes personal growth, develops leadership and builds community empowerment skills. Click here to apply now! Participants are encouraged to use their critical thinking and entrepreneurial skills to be inventive and creative while staying true to their convictions, adapting, and building relationships amongst other traits. This program is an investment in building the next generation of Sikh American leaders as they recognize their power, explore their true potential and that of the Sikh community, and build a network with like-minded achievers. LDP graduates have been inspired to create new pathways for Sikhs Americans—including Parminder Singh Deo, a producer at NBC, Jasleen Kaur Singh, creator of The Sikh Monologues, and Gurpreet Singh Sarin, a semi-finalist on American Idol. Click here for the application Part I of the training will be held in Los Angeles, C.A. from May 27-30, 2016 and Part II will be held in Washington, D.C. from October 10-14, 2016. The program fee of $250 covers round trip airfares (to Los Angeles, C.A. and Washington, D.C.), lodging, food and program materials for both parts of the LDP program. Limited need-based financial assistance is available. The application deadline is Sunday, March 27, 2016. Apply today at www.SikhLEAD.org!
