Through its SikhLEAD Internship Program, SALDEF is pleased to announce the availability of internship positions at the White House Initiative on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (WHIAAPI). This highly competitive internship opportunity is designed to mentor and cultivate today’s young leaders, strengthen their understanding of the Executive Office and prepare them for future public service opportunities.
SALDEF will provide this summer’s interns with a stipend of $1,500 for successful completion of the WHIAAPI or Congressional Internship Program. Stipends will help interns offset travel and accommodation costs.
Throughout the internship, SALDEF will host a series of special programming events including, leadership workshops, networking events, and social outings in DC, to further contribute to the overall experience of the interns.
Students of all academic backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Applicants should be graduate students or undergraduates who are enrolled at least part-time.
Application deadline for summer 2012 is February 26th at 11:59PM EST. Early applications will be given preference.
This exciting experience will allow interns to:
• explore a potential career track
• create a network of contacts
• develop professional skills and build confidence
