About the Sikh American National Youth Council (SANYC)
The Sikh American National Youth Council (SANYC) is a coalition to bring together Sikh American Youth and youth-led organizations from across the country to support each other, conduct joint advocacy, uplift initiatives, and share ideas to build a stronger Sikh American community. SANYC is housed within SALDEF, a national civil rights and impact organization, and will work closely with SALDEF to amplify initiatives, bring the power of national resources to local communities, and run community-based campaigns. Many Sikhs from across the country have spearheaded incredibly impactful projects in our own communities. By sharing resources and coordinating efforts, we can unlock endless opportunities for expansive change at all levels of government. Born out of this need comes The Sikh American National Youth Council (SANYC).

How it Works
SANYC will work in two major ways:
- SANYC will operate through a board made up of youth leaders from across the country. The board will help plan national initiatives and projects to amplify the Sikh voice and support SALDEF initiatives. This will include projects that speak to the passions and interests of Sikh youth including everything from Sikh mental health and Sikh civic engagement, to planning projects in coalition with other identity groups, and more.
- The SANYC will provide a platform for communication between Sikh youth organizations at all levels. It will also facilitate in supporting these organizations through the sharing of resources.
