Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP) Application

Funding is Available to Improve the Safety and Security of Your Gurdwara

Recent attacks and acts of vandalism at Gurdwaras illustrate the unique safety challenges that face houses of worship across the country. Our sangat should feel safe when they gather to express their faith or serve their community. However, a welcoming environment does not need to mean a defenseless one.

Funding is available for houses of worship through the Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP). The NSGP provides funding for target hardening and other physical security enhancements and activities for Gurdwaras at high risk of terrorist attacks.

STEP ONE

Find your State Administrative Agency (SAA) Contact

Establish contact with the State Administrative Agency (SAA) to learn about the application deadline and requirements as each state has different deadlines and requirements.

For specific situations and circumstances, the nonprofit sub-applicants should seek primary guidance from their SAAs and address all questions and concerns to/through their SAAs.

STEP TWO

Check your UEI Number

If your organization was previously assigned a DUNS Number, it has been replaced by a new UEI value. Login to sam.gov to check your new UEI.

If your organization has not previously applied for federal assistance, you will automatically be assigned a UEI when registering in sam.gov.

Please note that due to continued SAMs.gov delays, FEMA may not require a nonprofit sub-applicant to have a Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) number at the time it makes application to its State Administrative Agency (SAA) but will require a UEI be provided to the SAA by the time of grant award. We recommend confirming this with your local SAA.

STEP THREE

Prepare Sub-Application Materials.

This step will include conducting and/or reviewing your Vulnerability Assessment (Houses of Worship Security Self-Assessment | CISA) and completing the Investment Justification
