CHICAGO, IL (MAY 2024) –IV Solution Ketamine Centers of Chicago, is thrilled to announce Dr. Bal Nandra, Chief Medical Officer, has been awarded the prestigious Ellis Island Medal of Honor, heralding the importance of immigration to America’s prosperity and celebrates the contributions immigrants and their progeny have made to the U.S. This is one of our nation’s most prestigious awards and each year its recipients are read into the Congressional Record. Dr. Nandra will be honored along with fellow recipients at a Chairman’s dinner and ceremony at The Conrad Hotel on Saturday, May 18, 2024 in New York City.

The Medal celebrates outstanding Americans who are selflessly working for the betterment of the United States and its citizens. Past honorees include: Presidents Ronald Regan and Joe Biden, Nobel Prize laureates Elie Wiesel and Malala Yousufzai, Senator John McCain, Muhammad Ali, and Lee Iacocca, to name a few. Founded in 1986, this Medal is presented annually to those that have shown an outstanding commitment to serving the nation.

A pioneer in the ketamine industry for mental health, Dr. Bal Nandra has over seven years of experience leading IV Solution & Ketamine Centers of Chicago. Trained as an anesthesiologist at the prestigious University of Chicago Hospitals Department of Anesthesia and Critical Care, he has nearly 25 years of clinical experience and serves as IV Solution’s Medical Director and Founder. With his oversight and leadership, IV Solution has performed over 15,000 ketamine infusions since 2017, which represents far more experience than any ketamine clinic in Chicagoland and the Midwest. His clinic’s outcomes for depression, anxiety, PTSD, addiction and other mental illnesses are industry leading.

In order to make these life changing treatments more accessible for all, in 2018 Dr Nandra and his wife, Jill, founded a nonprofit called the Serenity Foundation, to provide financial assistance for those who need it.

Nandra was awarded the 2022 National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Chicago “Light The Darkness Award” for innovation and mental health wellness.

Dr. Nandra has also co-authored multiple published clinical studies both from his clinic and in collaboration with the Baylor College of Medicine’s Department of Psychiatry to evaluate the impact of ketamine infusions in the community and real world. Dr Nandra also works closely with Dr. Eugene Lipov to provide comprehensive care for those suffering from PTSD by utilizing the Stellate Ganglion Block (SGB) for his patients.

He has made it his life’s work to make ketamine accessible to everyone who could benefit.
