The 2020 Elections are around the corner, and there is a lot of work that needs to be done to remind people to register and get out and vote! If you are looking to become engaged in this election cycle, consider volunteering with SALDEF!
SALDEF’s SikhVOTE program has opportunities available for all ages and many of them you can do from the comfort of your home. These opportunities will allow you to connect and engage with the Sikh community and the larger Asian American community locally and nationally.
SikhVOTE volunteer opportunities include:
- Sharing information on social media
- Reaching out to family & friends over text/Whatsapp
- Making phone calls to voters (to help them register/get out the vote) as part of SikhVote virtual calling sessions and phone banks
- Serving as a poll worker on Election Day (high school/college students may be eligible)
- Getting resources for Sikh Students Associations/Youth Groups
- Getting resources for Gurdwaras (including virtual diwans)
- Creating graphics or videos
