For the past few weeks, we have asked for your support in raising $50,000 to support SikhLEAD, our community’s youth leadership development program. The SikhLEAD Internship Program is a pioneer initiative that places our youth in internships on Capitol Hill and in federal agencies, and provides them with an unparalleled opportunity to bolster their resume with meaningful experience, expose them to the legislative process, and develop their contacts for future opportunities.
To date, we are just over 50% of the way to our goal! With only three days left can we count on your support to help us meet this challenge?
SALDEF humbly asks for your guidance and support to expand this unique leadership program that seeks to develop the next generation of Sikh American changemakers. SikhLEAD helps our youth build relationships in Washington D.C. that will help ensure our community has future leaders who can protect our religious freedoms and increase our visibility in civic life in America.
Amrita Kaur Bamrah went from a college student figuring out her future to becoming a White House intern. “My experience with the SikhLead Program has been the first step in realizing where I really want to take my career. SALDEF’s mission to increase representation of Sikh Americans in Washington, D.C. is just fantastic. It really encourages young Sikh leaders like myself to become engaged with the government.”
If you haven’t yet joined in this effort, you still have time to make a difference. Help us reach our goal now! Please make a donation to support our community’s Sikh American youth—the future of Sikhism in America.

“As a Sikh American, I could see our community advancing itself through public policy, through politics, through government,” said former SikhLEADER and Harvard law student Jaywin Singh Malhi, “and I hope to play a role in that.”
Your generous donation is an investment in our collective future. These Sikh Americans are the leaders of tomorrow. Shouldn’t they be prepared to actively advocate and move our Sikh American goals forward? Please take a moment to donate airline miles or make your 100% tax-deductible donation!
