How much is it worth to you?

To know that… If you are discriminated against at work based on your religion, SALDEF can help. When Sahaj Singh Khalsa faced religious discrimination, harassment and assault in the workplace, he contacted SALDEF. “All I wanted was to do my job helping people in my community get the urgent medical care they needed. My Sikh religion did not prevent me from performing that job, but the prejudice of my supervisors did. I am thankful that organizations like the ACLU and SALDEF are safeguarding our basic freedoms.” To know that… If you are targeted at an airport, SALDEF can help. SALDEF regularly meets with TSA and DHS to work to ensure that your travel experience is a positive one.  In fact, earlier this year, SALDEF was invited to participate in a panel designed to help inform the U.S. Department of Homeland Security about concerns and community perceptions related to the use of new airport screening technology. During the panel, SALDEF voiced possible concerns around invasive screening that the Sikh American Community may have with proposed technologies. To know that… If you are having an issue with your local police department or school district, SALDEF can help.  SALDEF has conducted dozens of Know Your Rights forums in cities across the country to connect local officials with local Sikh American communities.  These forums empower community members by informing them of their rights and building relationships at the local level with authorities who can protect those rights. SALDEF can help you in many ways, but today, we are asking you to help us. Please support our end of year 15 for 15 campaign and become a monthly donor at the $15 level in recognition of our 15 years of service to the community.  Help us reach our year-end target of $75,000 with a generous donation to help ensure that we can continue to defend, inform and empower the Sikh American community.
