In 2004, SALDEF partnered with the Department of Justice to produce a poster explaining Sikh American headcoverings, including the dastaar (turban) and patka. The poster is used throughout the government, including by the Transportation Security Administration, the US Customs and Immigration Service, and by local law enforcement agencies and state Departments of Motor Vehicles.
