In the past four years, SALDEF has placed over 25 interns on Capitol Hill, at the White House, and across Washington, D.C.  These competitive positions have given students and recent graduates unique opportunities to understand the workings of the government while networking with the most powerful people in the country.

SALDEF’s SikhLEAD Internship Program is an 8-12 week D.C.-based program which allows students, graduate students, and recent graduates to explore a potential career track, create a network of professional and personal contacts, develop real-world skills, and gain experience that will open doors in the future. The application deadline is Friday, January 26, 2015 but early applications will be given priority. (NOTE: Applicants are encouraged to have a resume vetted by a career counselor or career development office; all applications submitted after the midnight deadline EST on January 26, 2015  will NOT be considered.) Additionally, the White House is accepting applications to its prestigious White House Internship: A Public Service Leadership Program until January 11, 2015.  SALDEF encourages all interested applicants to apply early and also notify SALDEF of your submission. Throughout the duration of the internship, SALDEF will host a series of special programming and opportunities, such as leadership workshops, networking events, and cultural outings in DC, to further contribute to the development of the next generation of leaders.
