What It Means to Lead
Since 1996, we at SALDEF have been pushing the boundaries and embarking on new frontiers. This year was no different: We continued our leadership in raising the profile of Sikh Americans with events that brought historic visibility to our community including the first Sikh American float in the Rose Parade, Langar on Capitol Hill, and the first Sikh commercial that portrayed our diversity and values in this nation where we have grown for over 125 years.
While we shared these stories with our neighbors, Sikh Americans like Texas deputy Sandeep Singh Dhaliwal and our young SikhLEAD participants embraced their inner leaders and took bold new steps empowering our community with new goals, new opportunities and new power. As we look to 2016, we hope to continue to share our values even more broadly by storytelling through a new platform, SikhAmericans.org! We can only continue to create change, dare to dream big, and empower our youth, through YOUR support. Together we can show the world what it means to lead!
