SALDEF has placed over 25 interns on Capitol Hill, at the White House, and across Washington, D.C. through its 8-12 week SikhLEAD Internship Program while also hosting a series of special programming—including leadership workshops and networking events—to develop the next generation of Sikh American leaders. Interns learn about the landscape and workings of the government while networking with the most powerful people in the country. Applications are due Sunday, January 31, 2016. NOTE for potential SikhLEAD interns: Applicants are encouraged to have a resume vetted by a career counselor or career development office; all applications submitted after the midnight deadline EST on January 31, 2016  will NOT be considered. SALDEF awards all selected participants with a $1500 stipend for the summer. Additionally, SALDEF is placing Sikh American youth in the New Jersey state capitol and state level agencies.
