Your Turn to Be On TV

Do you want to improve your rapport with television, radio, print, and social media reporters? Do you want to be an effective spokesperson for your community? Can we count on you to speak out on behalf of your community when they need you?

If you answered YES to any of these questions or would like to become a stronger candidate for media interviews,  I encourage you apply for SALDEF’s Media Training on Saturday, October 25th.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: Monday, October 1, 2014

SALDEF has partnered with Comcast NBCUniversal and Auburn Seminary to provide the  Bay Area Sikh American community with a unique media training opportunity. The training will allow you to:

  • Learn from top media experts on how to control an interview while still addressing a reporter’s needs
  • Make your point of view showcased in any resulting media coverage—whether an op-ed or a TV interview
  • Gain real on camera training and preparation (you will see yourself on camera!)
  • Create an elevator pitch that can explain the Sikh faith and the Sikh American way of life for the media
  • Understand how to pitch stories and make media care about issues important to your community
  • Get individualized feedback from trained media professionals

A select group of participants will be chosen to receive this training.
