Free ‘Sikh Monologues’ Event in Berkeley, CA

SALDEF invites you to a free presentation of Sikh Monologues, an event created by SikhLEAD Leadership Development Program (LDP) participant Jasleen Singh, on May 13, 2017 in Berkeley, CA.   In 2013, Jasleen embarked on a journey to record the stories of Sikhs in America. After reaching out to her network – most of which came from her fellow LDP class members –  she visited 15 cities and interviewed over 150 people. Jasleen then wrote and collected 10 short stories based directly on the interviews. These stories were then turned into a stage performance to be shared live! The Monologues ask the audience to think about issues from judgement, discrimination, immigration, to domestic violence. After five successful performances in California, New York, and Washington, D.C., the Sikh Monologues is excited to return to the Bay Area this May! For more information, please check out their Facebook page. Tickets are available for advance reservation here. Admission is free but space is limited. This is a family-friendly event. We look forward to seeing you there!
