Starting the week of June 30, 2014 until July 27, 2014, Comcast will air a PSA—a 30 second ad for our community—in 39 states across the United States and Washington D.C. The PSA will feature Waris Ahluwalia, Sikh American actor and designer, alongside the images of Sikhs around the United States, recognizing Sikh Americans as a vibrant part of America’s cultural tapestry.

SALDEF received 400 photo contributions by Sikh Americans across the United States to use in the PSA and will feature the photos in their entirety on SALDEF’s social media platforms during the remainder of 2014, as well as at SALDEF’s 2014 National Gala, which will be held onOctober 11, 2014, in Washington D.C.
Using a SALDEF-created script, the PSA demonstrates through words and images how Sikh American values are America’s values, including a love of service, family, and community. Be on the lookout for the PSA, which we will share with you when it airs next week!
