SALDEF is excited to announce the expansion of our highly successful SikhLEAD Internship program for Fall 2017!

We are currently seeking students and recent graduates available to intern in Washington D.C. this fall. Internships will begin in September and will last for 10-12 weeks and can be on a full-time or part-time basis. If interested, email your resume and writing sample to sikhlead-internship@saldef.org. Placements will occur on a rolling basis, with high priority given to applications received in the next week.

Since 2011, The SikhLEAD Internship Program has placed undergraduate, graduate and law students in internships throughout Washington D.C. with congressional offices, federal agencies, and DC-based host organizations to provide Sikh American college, graduate, and law students with enriching internships. Through this program, students are afforded first-hand perspective into the functioning of the federal government and legislative process. SikhLEAD internships afford interns the opportunity to engage with our nation’s leaders, explore a potential career tracks, create a network of professional and personal contacts, and develop real world skills.

We have placed over 60 interns at various congressional and senate offices and prominent organizations ranging from The White House and NBC Universal to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), The Becket Fund, and The Leadership Institute.

Send us your applications this week and don’t miss your opportunity to intern in the nation’s capital!

We look forward to helping our Sikh American youth reach their potential through yet another SikhLEAD cohort!
