Getting Sikh students coveted internships in DC is hard work and this year we hope to host the largest SikhLEAD Internship class in our history! When a young, bright and well trained Sikh, interns for an elected official or federal agency, those leaders learn about Sikhs in a way that is personal and enduring. SikhLEAD provides an experience that is unparalleled in its value to career development and also allows for Sikh perspectives to be injected into public policy discussions in our capitol. Students walk away with insight into exciting careers, and the community invests in high-potential youth and gains future innovators. However, despite the clear value of these new opportunities for our youth, we are at a crossroads. In order to accommodate our talented Sikh American intern applicants we need YOUR help. We have participants from across the nation—young, eager, intelligent minds ready to lead—but we are short on funds to provide for their success. We are asking you to help these young Sikhs gain access to leadership training no other organization provides that will guarantee the success of our future in America. Your contributions, of any size, will directly support youth development and ensure the next generation of Sikh Americans is well equipped to move our community forward!
