Inviting Creative Daring Minds: Apply Now For SALDEF’s LDP Program

SALDEF is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the next class of the SikhLEAD Leadership Development Program (LDP)! LDP is two part program designed to inspire, develop, and support a diverse, motivated, and innovative group of young Sikh American pioneers as they prepare for a lifetime of community engagement and leadership.

The program brings together approximately 16 young Sikh American leaders from across the country to participate in six days of training spread over two holiday weekends (Columbus Day and Memorial Day).

Participation in both weekends is mandatory as well as reading assigned prior to the weekend sessions. A series of challenging workshops, group activities and thought provoking discussions promotes personal growth, develops leadership and builds community empowerment skills.

Participants are encouraged to use their entrepreneurial skills to be inventive and creative while staying true to their convictions, moving quickly, and building relationships amongst other traits. The aim of LDP is to empower Sikh American youth to become effective changemakers committed to exploring and realizing both their personal potential and that of the Sikh American community. This program is an investment in building the next generation of Sikh American leaders as they recognize their power, explore their true potential and build a network with like-minded achievers. LDP graduates have been inspired to create new pathways for Sikhs Americans—including Jasleen Kaur Singh, creator of The Sikh Monologues, and Gurpreet Singh Sarin, a semi-finalist on American Idol.
