Due to unforeseen challenges with venue and conflict with travel plans of Gala honorees, SALDEF will be moving the date of our 2017 National Gala to Sunday, December 3, 2017. The venue will remain unchanged; the Bethesda Marriott. All tickets and tables purchased will be automatically transferred and honored for this new date. SALDEF is excited to announce Ash Singh, Sikh entrepreneur, as the keynote speaker at SALDEF’s 2017 National Gala to be held on December 3, 2017 at the Bethesda Marriott. Ash is regarded as one of the most successful entrepreneurs in Southeast Asia, having sold his first startup at the age of 22. Ash was named one of Asia’s Top Young Entrepreneurs by Bloomberg Businessweek in 2009. Ash is currently a visiting Professor of Entrepreneurship at INSEAD Business School, the Ivey Business School & Tsinghua School in China. Ash’s contributions to the Sikh community include creating Sikhiwiki.org and Turbanizer App which have helped thousands of Sikh kids become more confident with their turban and Sikh identity.
