Join Us in Salem, OR for a Know Your Rights Forum This Sunday

unnamed-1

Please join the SALDEF team and our partners for our Know Your Rights (KYR) Forum at the Dasmesh Darbar Sikh Temple this Sunday, August 27th from 1-1:45pm!

We will be covering a variety of topics including: school bullying, workplace discrimination, hate crimes, and information on your rights while flying.

The purpose of the KYR Forum is to: (1) ensure Sikh Americans understand their rights and protections against discrimination and bias as citizens and residents of the United States, (2) introduce Sikh American community members to agencies and groups that can address complaints, incidents, or issues they may have and (3) provide local, state, and federal governmental agencies the opportunity to build relationships with and address the specific needs of their local Sikh American community.

Participating agencies and representatives include: Knight Sor and Harpreet Mokha of the Department of Justice -Community Relations Services (DOJ-CRS), Bryan Moore of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), and Kevin Damuth of the FBI. Attendees will also have the chance to ask questions about specific concerns.

SALDEF will be hosting similar events across the country. If you feel your local Sangat could benefit from a Know Your Rights Forum, please complete this form.

We hope to see you there!
