As a part of SALDEF‘s ongoing effort to empower the community and strengthen partnerships with local government, we are pleased to announce a Know Your Rights (KYR) Forum for the Sikh American community of Seattle and Renton, WA in cooperation with Gurudwara Singh Sabha of Renton, WA on Sunday, May 13th starting at 1:00pm, with a Question-Answer session starting at 2:45pm. The following government agencies and representatives will provide community members with important information concerning employment discrimination, hate crimes, and government resources.

Representatives from the Kent School District will be discussing school bullying issues, the EEOC will be addressing workplace discrimination related issues, and the Seattle Police Department will be speaking regarding Bias and Hate crimes.  The program agenda encourages sangat members to interact with questions and concerns directly with each department representative.
