SALDEF Hosts Know Your Rights Forum in West Sacramento, CA

The Know Your Rights program creates an open forum encouraging all Sikh Americans to better understand their civil rights. As a part of SALDEF‘s ongoing effort to empower the community and strengthen partnerships with local government, we are pleased to announce a Know Your Rights Forum for the Sikh American community of Sacramento in cooperation with Gurdwara Sahib West Sacramento on Sunday, July 29th starting at 12:30 pm, with a Question-Answer session immediately following. The following government agencies and representatives will provide community members with important information concerning employment discrimination and government resources.

Representatives from the Washington Unified School District will be discussing school bullying issues, the EEOC will be addressing workplace discrimination related issues, and SALDEF will be discussing hate/bias crime issues.  The program agenda encourages sangat members to interact with questions and concerns directly with each department representative.
